Uhuru promises war to close political allies for being corrupt

President uhuru has assured Kenyans in the diaspora that the crackdown on graft will continue and that every effort will be made to bring back integrity to the public service.

” Kenya has great potential but there is need to change practices that hinder our country from achieving progress.”

The president further said that he will not relent on the war on corruption despite numerous attacks by a section of politicians alleging that certain communities are on target.

President Uhuru is on an official visit to Namibia and said that those found to be corrupt will be prosecuted no matter their status or association with him.

“If you are corrupt we will fight you. You can be my brother or my sister or my closest political ally but if you are corrupt we will fight you. I won’t be clouded by ethnicity or status in my quest to leave behind a united nation and I will continue championing for Kenya’s unity.”

The president was speaking to Kenyans in the diaspora in the south African nation where he also directed relevant Government agencies to come up with mechanisms of ensuring that Kenyans in the diaspora are issued with the new generation passports in the countries of their residence.

President Uhuru has said in the past that after investigations, Haji will take over and ensure that those found guilty will be prosecuted regardless of their standing. “We want the rule of law to be followed and people taken to court.”

Since Uhuru was re-elected in the controversial 2017 poll, his government has been dogged by corruption allegations, with some cases involving high-profile individuals.
