State House Kenya has issued a statement explaining why President Uhuru Kenyatta’s social media pages have been deactivated.

In a tweet, State House confirmed the deactivation, adding that some unauthorized access had been detected on the President’s social media accounts.

State House noted that the deactivation was meant to “allow for the necessary remedial measures to be undertaken”.

“On account of unauthorized access to the official social media handles of H.E the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta .All official social media handles for the President have been temporarily suspended to allow for the necessary remedial measures to be undertaken,” State House tweeted.

A quick search on all social media platforms indicates that the accounts are unavailable.

Before the deactivation of the accounts, the president had put out a post affirming his commitment to the war against corruption.

“If you are corrupt we will fight you. You can be my brother or my sister or my closest political ally but if you are corrupt we will fight you. I won’t be clouded by ethnicity or status in my quest to leave behind a united nation and I will continue championing for Kenya’s unity,” he posted.
