PSG join Bayern Munich in race for Nigerian winger

Blistering youngster Henry Onyekuru, a 21-year-old Nigerian winger, only made the move from Eupen to Everton in 2017, following links with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester United.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan with Turkish side Galatasaray. The Everton man has been very impressive this season as he has gone on to so far score 11 goals from 24 Super Lig games for his side who are in second place on the Turkish top-flight standings.

Onyekuru arrived at the Toffees from Belgian club Eupen during the summer of 2017. The Everton man has yet to play a competitive game for the Merseysiders and has had two spells with Anderlecht and Galatasaray which have both been largely successful.

PSG are not the only team that has become interested in acquiring the services of the Nigerian. The report added that other clubs who are interested include Bayern Munich, Marseille, Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Sevilla.

Reports stemming from Germany earlier in the week claimed that Bayern Munich had emerged as the leading contenders for his signature, with Fanatik having even gone as far as to suggest that the club was willing to meet his €40m price tag.

However, in the last 24 hours, PSG have been just as heavily touted as potential destinations for Onyekuru, with the capital side rumoured to have been tracking the progress of the winger for several seasons now.

PSG are known to be in the market for reinforcements out wide, with star man Kylian Mbappe reportedly wanted by Real Madrid.

Onyekuru is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
