Waititu Boys Tackle Issues Affecting Residents On The Floor of The House

Kiambu County Assembly turned to a battlefield on Thursday after the members of the County Assembly tested their fighting ability on the flour of the house.

It is reported that the two sides clashed over a proposal to reconstitute the Finance Committee and increase the county’s recurrent expenditure by Ksh.1.2 billion in the 2019 supplementary budget.

Assembly orderlies had a tough time trying to separate MCAs allied to Governor Ferdinand Waititu and those opposed to him, forcing Speaker Stephen Ndichu to adjourn the sitting abruptly.

Following the standoff four MCAs representing Ndenderu, Sigona, Ndeiya and Ikinu were suspended for three house sittings.

This has yet again raised questions on the calibre of legislators elected and appointed in counties across the country.
