Isis has been defeated completely says the White House

A spokeswoman for the White House has confirmed all ISIS-held territory in Syria has been “100% eliminated”. US President Donald Trump had vowed earlier this week that victory was hours away. It had been reported earlier that ISSI fanatics were hiding out in caves in their final holdout in Syria. While thousands of the terrorists had fled, a few were still hiding out in the Syrian village of Baghouz.

But the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) battled the holed up ISIS militants in Baghouz last night, supported by coalition airstrikes. The Kurdish-led SDF, backed by US air power, raided the trenches in the dark as victory finally came within sight. This afternoon the White House finally announced that all ISIS territory had been wiped out.

The SDF had previously said they would declare the group defeated once a search for hidden mines and jihadist holdouts was complete. The terror group’s final defeat at Baghouz looks to have finally ended ISIS’ territorial rule that once spanned a third of Iraq and Syria.
