Governor Sonko pledges 200,000 in exchange of information about city county cartels

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has today pledged 200,000 in exchange of information that will help in arresting city county cartels.

This comes in the wake of the arrest of Nairobi County officers linked to receiving bribes from Kenyans.

Sonko revealed that the officers were arrested by EACC detectives in Mowlem yesterday.

Although every suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law the governor condemned the act and added that he is entitled to inform the public on the action taken against any county officer who asks for bribes from hardworking Nairobians.

The Governor also urged the public to report all cases related to corruption by texting to 0722886600, 0738886600 or 0739555555 or call 0730997000 or 0709781000.

He also encouraged the recording of clips to expose officers who ask for bribe.

Sonko says that he is intentional to work with the public toward dismantling and arrest of the cartels.

He specified that he wants to deal with the land rates department where there has been a conspiracy to deny the county revenue by tampering with land rates records at a fee.

“The same applies to the cash office where one coop bank banking slip receipt is used to issue multiple licenses to the public. ” he said.

He also reiterated that he plans on rewarding anyone who will provide them with helpful information.
