Former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere has described Aaron Ramsey’s imminent exit from the Emirates Stadium as painful. It is confirmed that the Wales international will leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season when his contract expires, having agreed a mega deal with Serie A giants Juventus.
His move to the Serie A will bring to an end to his 11-year association with Arsenal. One sad fact about the transfer to Italy is that the Gunners will not get a penny from his move. This fact makes Aliadiere unhappy and he has registered his displeasure.
“It pains me every time I go to the Emirates and see how well he is performing, knowing that he won’t be there next season,” he told TalkSport.
“He is a team player, he will work for the team and do anything for the team before himself. Losing a player like this on a free, for me, is criminal.”
Aliadiere has also raised concerns about the direction of the club with the fact that the Gunners can no longer attract top talents like they used to.
“Arsenal has become a club that doesn’t really attract top players and coaches because you just don’t know what direction they’re going into, which with Arsene Wenger, for 22 years, was going in the same direction with the same people around.
“These days, it’s like everyone is in limbo and not knowing if they’re going to be there next season or not, which is difficult for everybody at the club.”
In other news, Roma defender Kostas Manolas is a potential transfer target for Arsenal. The Greece international is nearing the end of his fifth season at Roma, and has made a total of 197 appearance across all competitions.
He has been linked with various European teams, including Arsenal’s fierce Premier League rival Manchester United. According to reports, Kostas Manolas has a release clause of £31 million in his deal. Calciomercato have also reported that Unai Emery’s side are closely monitoring the situation.
The Gunners could bolster their defensive ranks during the next transfer window, and Kostas Manolas could be the right choice given his experience and price-tag.
Sokratis, who recently injured and could miss some international matches for his country, could play a big role in luring his compatriot at Emirates as the centre-back has adapted nicely to the Premier League football and Manolas could be tempted to follow the footsteps of fellow countryman.
