Uhuru’s last message before the account was hacked is believed to be the reason the account was compromised. Uhuru who is on an official visit to Namibia had promised Kenyan citizens living there that he will not relent on the war on corruption and later posted his message online.
President Uhuru uses the account to communicate to a wide range of Kenyans both locally and abroad as well as promote Jubilee’s big four Agenda.
Shortly after the Presidents social media accounts were deleted on Friday, State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita confirmed that they had been compromised.
On account of unauthorized access to the official social media handles of H.E the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta .All official social media handles for the President have been temporarily suspended to allow for the necessary remedial measures to be undertaken.— Nzioka Waita (@NziokaWaita) March 22, 2019
State House Chief further wrote, “It seems the President’s stand on corruption has generated all manner of reactions.”
This was indication that the suspects behind the hacking could be linked to culprits facing graft charges in the country.
