Spurs handed major boost against City ahead of UEFA Champions League Clash

Tottenham Hotspurs could be swimming their way into UEFA Champions League semi finals after their fierce rivals Manchester City was dealt to a major injury blow.

Manchester City have been hit by a fresh injury scare during the international break. The Citizens face up against Tottenham Hotspur three times in the space of just 12 days in the middle of April and could now be without one of their most dangerous players during that spell.

Two of the games are Champions League quarter finals and Pep Guardiola will likely be wanting to field his strongest possible side as he attempts to break Man City’s duck in the competition.

But the City boss may face those games without his dangerous winger Leroy Sané after the German international was taken off during the friendly against Serbia.

Sané has been an important part of their side this season and has the most assists of any player from all teams in the Champions League this season.

He has also been key in the Premier League for City, which could also mean any injury will impact on the league match between the two legs of the Champions League tie.

The winger was on the receiving end of an horrific looking challenge from Serbia’s Milan Pavkov, who was sent off after luncging over the ball and landing on Sané’s leg in a fashion reminiscent of leg breaking challenges seen in the past.
