Pogba has appeared much settled since the appointment of Solskjaer and was a key element of the Norwegian’s team that won eight away matches on the bounce before the recent back to back defeats to Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Addressing the rumours, Pogba who is currently away with the French squad said:

“Like I’ve always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. There is also [Zinedine] Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football. ‘For now, I’m at Manchester. We don’t know what the future holds. I’m at Manchester and I’m happy.”

The midfielder, 26, has praised United’s caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and says he has a “great relationship with him”.

“At the moment I’m happy in Manchester. I play. There’s a new coach,” he said.

But he also told a news conference: “Real Madrid is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’ve always said it is a dream club for every player.”

Pogba is set to feature for France in Euro 2020 qualifiers against Moldova on Friday and Iceland on Monday.

While on international duty, the former Juventus midfielder has given all of his France World Cup winning team-mates world champion rings modelled on those produced for many American sports.

Here are what united fans think of his comments:

Is Pogba going to snake us?? He would ruin Real Madrid, he’s just not consistent enough. His comments make me mad, If true.— Man United (@ManUtdLov3) March 21, 2019

Real Madrid wants #Pogba? Okay, give us £400m and he’s yours. #MUFC— Gareth (@TheGarethRosser) March 21, 2019

This Pogba to Real Madrid thing is an interesting one. He has that arrogance about him which is common to many madrid players. But in a game play sense he is one of the most inconsistent players and it will take only few bad perfomances for the bernabeu to boo him.#mufc— O Fenomeno (@reddevilsarmada) March 20, 2019
