Mututho Gives Uhuru a Perfect Advice on How to Deal With Famine

In the wake of this week, Kenyans were dismayed by the news of residents of Turkana and Baringo starving to death.

Though the government has denied the death reports, situation in those two areas is taunting, anyway.

These come just few months after a wrangle between maize farmers and the government, where the farmers were claiming that they have a lot of maize in store and yet the government was unwilling to buy them.

The news of starving residents, however, was not received well by Kenyans as some were criticizing the government for not being responsible to its citizens.

Among the politicians who have so far criticized the government include former Naivasha MP John Mututho, who claims the draught is just a cover up of the government to import duty free maize.

Mututho asked the government to pay maize farmers in order for them to release maize to the starving Kenyans.

“The Government should use funds held by the Ministry of Agriculture to pay maize farmers, who will in turn release the produce in their stores and in the process save hundreds of lives,” Mututho said.

Former NACADA boss also urged President Kenyatta to stop any maize importation to avoid creating scandals.
