United Legend to Be Sued By PSG

Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra could be facing legal action from Paris Saint-Germain after a video of the Frenchman criticising the club and using homophobic language emerged.

Evra had already riled PSG with his wild celebrations in the stands at the Parc des Princes after United recorded a famous comeback win in the Champions League.

Among the criticisms of Evra following that game was former PSG and Monaco player Jerome Rothen – a former teammate of Evra.

Rothen accused Evra of showing ‘a lack of respect’, and Evra is reported to have said in a Snapchat video posted on Sunday: “Next time I see you, I’m going to slap you in the face.”

ESPN say Evra also called PSG players “ps” and “fs” in his homophobic rant.

Evra later apologised for any offence he caused, and said the French media had misinterpreted his comments.

Evra is reported as saying: “Here it is Manchester. Stop supporting teams who will never win.

“Even my cousin who is in the front [of the car] is p** off. Paris, you are some fs, some f***s, I’m telling you. We [United] put our D team [against PSG] and we did you.

“Some kids played – they used to clean my boots. They don’t even have sperm [yet]. Paris, you are some p*s.”

The report states PSG are considering whether to take legal action against Evra for his comments.

The Daily Mail say PSG have issued a statement, which reads: “Paris Saint-Germain firmly condemns the homophobic slurs uttered by Patrice Evra against the club, its representatives and its former player (Jerome Rothen).

“The words have shocked the heart of this club, which is attached to values of respect and being open with one another.”

Evra responded on Tuesday night on Twitter, saying the French media had misinterpreted his words, and he apologised for any offence caused.

He said: “I am here to clarify a massive massive misunderstanding but we have to shut it down.

“I made a video, as a joke as a friend, and the French media, they take it because I used the word ‘pede’, so they translated as I am against the gay people.

“I am not homophobic. I love everybody. So if I offend someone or I hurt someone, I apologise.

“You know it’s not my intention but they just try and put me down.

“You have to be free for whatever you want to do in life, I will never judge anyone. My mum raised me and educated me that way. Only God can judge me.”
