Patient charged for forging form to defraud hospital

A patient was yesterday charged in a Kibera court with forging an inpatient client information form in order to defraud money from a private hospital in Ruiru.

Newton Kigera, who appeared before principal magistrate Derrick Kuto, denied the offence and was remanded until this morning when the matter will be mentioned for his bail application.

The prosecution alleges that the accused forged the inpatient client form belonging to Genius Ruiru Hospital to access the hospital funds.

Kigera is said to have committed the offence on March 11 at unknown location.

He was arrested at the hospital when the management noted something suspicious on the documents.

He was taken to Ruiru police station to record statements after the management notified the police.

The prosecution requested the court to detain the accused for one more day to allow investigators to collect more evidence before he is charged.
