Mike Sonko did not expect the backlash he would receive after announcing that he was sending relief food to Hunger Stricken Turkana Residents on Wednesday.
Sonko announced on social media that he had donated relief food & other non-food items to residents of Turkana who are facing starvation due to the current drought situation
Immediately after the announcement, the tag #SonkoHelpsTurkana started trending on social media with several people praising the governor for his generosity.
But Miguna Miguna could have non of these praises and told those praising Sonko to hang in shame.
“The Turkana are Kenyans who pay taxes and must receive basic needs from both the national government and Turkana county government.” Miguna Miguna said through an explosive tweet.
He accused the governor of using stolen funds dressed up as charity.
Miguna Miguna has never hid his disdain for Mike Sonko as a leader. In 2017, he asked Nairobians to reject the functionally illiterate Drug Dealer.
But in a shocking turn of events, Sonko nominated Miguna Miguna as his Deputy Governor last year. Miguna turned down the nomination saying he was not consulted and termed it as a malicious distraction.
Sonko has come under intense criticism for using the Turkana Drought as a source of cheap publicity.
