EX-CS home raided by police

Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa’s home in Karen was raided by Officers from the elite Directorate of Criminal Investigation’s Special Crime Prevention Unit in search of guns.

According to the police report the DCI officers took Echesa’s Beretta pistol and recovered 15 bullets during the operation.

Echesa who was sacked by President Kenyatta during a cabinet reshuffle is suspected to have been involved in a number of criminal activities which has not been confirmed yet.

However Echesa has been demanding that Uhuru makes public the reasons why he was fired after serving for only a year.

While in office he was accuse of flying in eight pakistani omen illegally who were later deported for violating terms of their temporary passes that allowed them into Kenya, allegedly to promote transnational culture.

However, the women were suspected to have been victims of human trafficking.

According to Echesa while confirming said that there were police but were there to know whether his gun was licensed.

However he confirmed that the police did not take away the gun after confirming that it was legal.

The raid came days after the government asked all civilian who are in possession of firearms to present them at the DCI training school in South C.

Depending on the outcome of ballistics examination and records at the Firearms Licensing Board, a decision will be made on whether to return or withdraw the firearm.
