Details of Zambian High Commissioner’s last days after fatal crash

Fresh details have emerged on what actually killed Zambian High Commissioner to Kenya, Brenda Muntemba.

The 49-year-old diplomat was traveling with a fellow diplomat, her Botswana counterpart Duke Lephoko.

Hospital transfers

The High commissioner was admitted at Machakos Level 5 hospital before being flown to Nairobi the following day for specialized treatment.

Reports indicate that she had to undergo surgery due to the injuries she got in the accident.

Medical reports indicate that the doctors had a hard time trying to stem internal bleeding before she was put in ICU.

Muntemba was also a celebrated women’s advocate. She will be remembered for authoring literary material that focused on the empowerment of women and girls in society.

Her book “Retrospect” goes to great lengths to encourage girls to reclaim their worth and reach higher heights as deserving members of the society.

Before being appointed to serve as High Commissioner to Kenya, Muntemba served as Southern Province Police Commissioner and Chief Program Officer at UNESCO in Zambia.

She will be remembered as an inspiration to many women across the African continent.
