According to reports by Spanish outlet Sport, the Catalans believe they can wrap up a deal for the centre-back within a month with the player having shown his determination to join them.
De Ligt was instrumental for the Dutch side as they stage a memorable comeback against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals.
The report further says that the 19-year-old will be given a five-year contract on similar terms to that given to his friend and teammate Frenkie de Jong.
