Marriage is quite sacred to many and celebrities are not left out. The resolve to wait until marriage to have sex is generally affiliated with conservative people. Hence it’s quite surprising that some of our open and carefree celebrities practiced abstinence until marriage, and those who are yet to get married, are waiting until they do.
So here are some secular celebrities who thought it’s a good idea to wait for marriage before getting between the sheets.
Justin Bieber
In a recent interview with Vogue, the singer revealed that he and his wife Hailey Baldwin abstained from sex for several months until their New York City courthouse wedding.
Yvonne Orji
Insecure star Yvonne Orji is well known for her decision to stay a virgin until marriage. The 35-year old actress affirmed to PEOPLE in an interview that her faith inspired her resolve to wait until marriage.
Ciara
Ciara told Cosmopolitan South Africa that she made a firm decision to wait until she and Russell Wilson got married.
She said: “I really believe that when you focus on a friendship, you have the opportunity to build a strong foundation for a relationship…”
Andy Grammer
Andy Grammer revealed to The Talk in 2016 that he judiciously abstained until he married Aijia in 2012.
He said: “I actually waited until I was married to have sex.”
Julianne Hough
Julianne Hough reportedly told Cosmo GIRL about her resolve to wait until marriage:
“I think (the choice) to have sex before marriage is an individual one, but if you’re just with one person, it’s only for one good reason, and (waiting to have sex) will strengthen that relationship.”
Adriana Lima
Victoria’s Secret Angel Adriana Lima revealed to GQ in 2006 about why she was waiting, saying: “Sex is for after marriage, and If there’s no respect, that means they don’t want me.”

On an interview with PEOPLE in 2000, Jessica Simpson, shared her decision to wait until marriage, while she was in a relationship with Nick Lachey: “My virginity is something I stand strong in.”

Jordin Sparks vowed to remain abstinent until marriage. She reportedly said: “I don’t want to give away bits of my soul to lots of different guys…I want to give all of myself to the right man on the right night.”
