Residents accuses Prophet Owour for instructing women to deserted their husbands

Prophet David Owour has been hitting headlines of late after he was caught on property battle with kins of his bishop and trolled on social media.

When he thought things are getting better as he prepares for a huge come back crusade, a large crowd of Kaptoroi Village, Nandi central, stormed the Repentance and Holiness Ministry church linked to him and threw out the congregants.

Reports  revealed that the more than 100 local residents raided the church for allegedly being the reason behind the numerous broken families within the area.

The onslaught was reportedly led by Sylvester Tarus, who went on to vow to shut down all sanctuaries belonging to the Repentance and Holiness Ministry.

“You’ll never find a member of the church tilling the land or harvesting tea. They only concentrate on their church, as a result, the economic fortunes have dwindled,” Tarus disclosed to the publication.

Tarus and his fellow Kaptoroi residents made their way to the church armed with crude weapons, forcing the church faithful to flee in fear.

The locals allegedly accused the Repentance and Holiness Ministry of deceiving and radicalizing their members.

A recent upsurge in the number of broken families was also attributed to the church, with the irate crowd accusing the church of instructing the women members to separate from their families if their husbands didn’t subscribe to the same doctrine.

The locals went on to claim that over half of the women in the village had deserted their husbands following instructions from the church.

Tarus and the rest of the villagers thus went on to lock up the church and commanded the worshipers to join other denominations.

Church officials were, however, adamant that they had only left in order to avoid conflict and that they would convene at the church next Sunday for worship.

“We have broken no law for anyone to subject us into this kind of ridicule,” a church asserted.

The angry crowd also accused the church of using their loud public address system to play music throughout the day and night for a whole month.
