According to the Daily Mail, Alexis Sanchez is set to be put out of his misery as Juventus look to make a move for him in the summer although he will have to take a pay cut. Sanchez arrived Old Trafford in January 2018 but it has been a nightmare move.

The Chilean international have struggled for form and battled injuries since he arrived. He is currently sidelined after he picked up an injury in United’s match against Southampton last month. According to reports the club will attempt to offload him in the summer in a bid reduced the wage bill.

Sanchez is currently the highest earner at Old Trafford with a weekly wage of  £500,000 and the club authorities are trying to offload a man who has failed to justify high fee.

Italian champions Juventus are the leading club hoping to take  the Chilean international off Manchester United hands but he will have to accept a pay cut according to Mail Sport.

The Italian giants like the idea of Sanchez linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin but are being put off by the £500,000-a-week wages the Chilean is on at Old Trafford.

They have already agreed to pay his former Arsenal team-mate Aaron Ramsey £400,000 a week when he joins in the summer but, according to CalcioMercato, will not be matching Sanchez’s current pay.

Sanchez has struggled since swapping the Emirates Stadium for Manchester 14 months ago with injuries often hampering his progress and preventing him from getting a run in the team. He is on a five-year deal.

He has scored just two goals this season, one in the league and one in the FA Cup, the most recent in a win at Arsenal at the end of January. Meanwhile, United must finish in the top four to have any chance of signing Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
