This is a comment on a fake facebook post by a user responding to a fake juicy deal.

A social media account masquerading to be Nairobi governor Mike Sonko’s account has been playing tricks on desperate Kenyans by alleging to be handing out motorcycles after paying a sum of Ksh 3,200.

The Facebook account which is barely a month old has been stealing photos from the original Nairobi governors account and imitating to be the original account.

Until recently when they had gained the confidence of Kenyans, the group was yet to launch a deal.

However, on Thursday, the group posted a juicy deal which they convinced followers that they were handing out motorcycles to needy Kenyans both locally and abroad but after a tip was settled that is to facilitate the transfer.

They wrote:

Fellow Kenyans
I still believe that blessed is the hands that giveth, that’s why today iwant to give back to the society by DONATING 12 NEW MOTORBIKES TO THE FIRST 12 LUCKY PEOPLE TO INBOX ME THEIR FULL NAMES, CONTACTS AND LOCATION WHERE TO DELIVER THEIR MOTORBIKES. This opportunity is open for any Kenyan within or abroad. The beneficiaries must be able to cater for the transfer of logbook to their names. First come first serve and may God bless You all

However followers alerted the Nairobi governor who busted the cul[prits after recording the voice call it emerged that the account was fake and

It has come to my attention that a highly digital group of conmen operating under Sonko Rescue Team Kenya has been conning unsuspecting Kenyans of their hard earned money. They are operating a Website, Facebook Page which is sponsored to reach more followers. They also lift photos from the Governor’s Facebook and use them in their con game.

According to information gathered so far, the group requests for a non-refundable registration fee of Sh. 300, they pretend to offer loans, motorbikes and school fees vouchers.
They further claim that through Equity Bank and Safaricom, registered members can borrow between Sh1,000 and a maximum Sh50,000.

I wish to take this opportunity to warn Kenyans to watch out and never to send any money to these conmen. In any case you are approached, please report to the police or CID or to my office for quick action.
