When Jurgen Klopp dipped into the transfer market over the summer to sign yet another player from a relegated club in Xherdan Shaqiri, the fans were desperate for the Swiss midfielder to turn out the same way that Andy Robertson and Georginio Wijnaldum have. For the most part, he’s looked good, but recently Klopp has been reluctant to use his number 23.
The 27-year-old former Stoke City, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan man is a quality addition to Klopp’s squad. However, at the age of 27 it’s unlikely he has much developing left to do as a player. Regardless of how much better he may or may not get, the Reds can’t work out why, as of late, Jurgen Klopp seems to be continually snubbing the versatile winger, even in games like yesterday where they needed some magic.
The Reds simply cannot work out why their direct Swiss squad man is being overlooked at the moment and will be keen to see him play in their next outing against Tottenham.
