What Man Utd Think About Gareth Bale Transfer After Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid Return

Manchester United have long been linked with Real Madrid star Bale, with interest dating back to Sir Alex Ferguson’s time at the club.

The Wales international – who is training at the Red Devils’ Carrington complex this week ahead of his country’s showdown with Trinidad and Tobago – has again been backed to make the move.

Bale is facing an uncertain future at Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane succeeded Santiago Solari as manager in midweek.

The duo had a strained relationship when Zidane was in charge the first time around.

And, with Real poised to pursue Eden Hazard, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe this summer, Bale has been tipped to go.

However, Sources say that Manchester United have no interest in signing the 29-year-old this time around.

And that is because he would cost them a huge amount given Real’s eagerness to raise funds for a spending spree.

United are switching their focus to signing younger talent instead.

But where that leaves Bale remains to be seen.

Tottenham could pursue their former No 11 as they aim to keep pace with their Premier League rivals next season.

And Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City all have the financial muscle to pull off a spectacular deal.

Meanwhile, former United boss David Moyes has, yet again, revealed he wanted to land Bale upon taking the job in 2013.

And the Red Devils even had a helicopter on standby at the time.

“By the time we got to the end of the transfer window, we always thought we had a chance of getting Gareth Bale,” Moyes told beIN SPORTS.

“We hoped we could talk him out of going to Real Madrid because it was already half done.

“We had offered more money, we tried to entice him. We did [have a helicopter ready] and we tried.”

Bale has managed just eight goals from 22 La Liga games so far this season.
