City lawyer Assa Nyakundi was Sunday evening admitted to the Nairobi Hospital after he shot and killed his son in what he claims was an accident.
Mr. Nyakundi was rushed to the hospital after developing shock symptoms while at the Muthaiga Police Station where he had been detained for interrogation on the fatal shooting.
He was expected to be arraigned in court on Monday on a miscellaneous application for the prosecution to obtain more time to conclude investigations into the incident.
Mr. Nyakundi, who reported the shooting at Muthaiga Police Station, told police that the incident occurred at 1.am on Sunday as he was driving to his Muthaiga North home from ICC Church on Mombasa Road with his 29-year-old son Joseph Nyakundi

The lawyer said the son was pronounced dead on arrival at the Aga Khan hospital where he rushed him.
“The reportee who is a civilian firearm holder has been detained to assist in further investigations. The said firearm loaded with 14 rounds of 9mm and the m/v have been kept as exhibits,” said police.
The body of the deceased was moved to the Aga Khan University Hospital mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.
