An Administration Police (AP) officer was Monday arraigned in a Kakamega court charged with murdering his wife at their house in Navakholo sub county, Kakamega County on March 16, 2019.
According to the prosecution, Patrick Nyapara who appeared before Chief Magistrate, Bildad Ocheing shot his wife Christine Maonga dead on the material accusing her of having a love affair with another man.
Christine Maonga was serving as a teacher at Navakholo Secondary School.
The prosecution added that the accused was arrested at Nasira village in Nambale sub county, Busia County while attempting to flee to Uganda.
The court ordered Nyapara remanded at Kakamega police station for seven days during which he should undergo a psychiatric assessment and a postmortem done on the body of the deceased.
The case will be heard on March 25, 2019.
