Shock as President’s Bodyguard Mysteriously Disappears at State House

A family in Siaya is looking for their son who mysteriously disappeared from State House Mombasa in 2010.

Jorim ODhiambo, an elite GSU constable has never been seen since that fateful day on August 7,2010 when he reported for duty that night.

His mother, Mary Abang’a has refused to give up on his son and goes to pray every day, hoping that Jorim will one daty return home in Maramba Village.

The 65 year old woman, says that her hope and resilience cannot allow her to mourn her son just yet.

An inquiry file was opened at Mombasa Central police station two weeks after the GSU officer went missing, but still there is no information concerning his whereabouts.

His family is still grappling with uncertainty, saying there is a feeling “he is somewhere.”

Abang’a told a local newspaper that her family is not giving up on tracing the 38-year-old son. “I’ve never felt that my son is dead. He has not ‘sent a dream’ to me or any of my relatives. Let the government tell us where he is, whether dead or alive,” Abang’a said.

“Even if he was killed in a fight with criminals, let us be told because we’ve suffered for a very long time.”

Odhiambo’s wife Joselyne Nanjala said she will never give up on waiting.

“I still pray that my husband will come back,” she told the Star in an interview.

The officer was the family’s sole breadwinner. His daughter, who was 18 months old when he disappeared, is now in Standard 5.

Nanjala said life has not been the same since her husband disappeared.
