Riots as Notorious Police officer who killed lover is arraigned in Kakamega

The AP police officer who killed his lover last week will spend seven days at the Kakamega Police Statition as detectives complete investigations into the murder of Christine Maonga.

The officer was arraigned at a Kakamega court on Monday but was not charged with the heinous murder of the Navakholo secondary school teacher.

Nyapara shot Christine several times on 14th March this year using a Czeka Pistol.

He was arrested in Busia County two days later as he tried to sneak to the neighboring Uganda, as all criminals do.

“I am yet to conduct a post mortem for the deceased to ascertain the degree of injuries and the extent of injury inflicted to the deceased. I am also yet to avail the suspect to a psychiatric for a mental assessment test,” said Chief Inspector Leonard Kurgat, the Investigation officer.


Kakamega Chief Magistrate Bildad Ochieng’ ordered that the suspect be detained at Kakamega Police Station for seven days.

Security at the courts was beefed up, with a contingent of anti-riot officers in full gear anticipating more riots with the AP arraigning.
