Kipchumba Murkomen is in trouble over attacks on Jubilee party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen is in trouble over alleged attacks on Jubilee party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta.

A group of MPs is now plotting to oust Murkomen from his position as the party’s majority leader.

The MPs, led by Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny and nominated MP Maina Kamanda, said Murkomen has no respect for the party leader.

“Time has now come for us to do away with Murkomen and replace him with someone else. You cannot be the Jubilee-appointed Senate majority leader and keep hurling insults at the party leader who is President Uhuru Kenyatta,” Kutuny said.

The MP was among other legislators, who are associated with opposing Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid, at a church in Limuru.

The other MPs attending the church function were Maina Kamanda, Peter Mwathi, Ngunjiri Wambugu and Mathare’s Antony Oluoch.

Wambugu and Kamanda are said to be among a team calling itself Kitaeleweka which is out to stop the DP from ascending to the presidency in 2022.

Kamanda, speaking at the church, told off Ruto over Mt Kenya votes.

“If Ruto thinks that recruiting a few leaders from the central region will help him win votes in 2022, then he is wrong. The constituents are staunch supporters of the President. It is time he understood that central region vote is under the lock and key of Uhuru Kenyatta,” said Kamanda.
