Graft cases is not in your Job description,DP Ruto tells DCI Kinoti

The Deputy President William Ruto has urged the office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to stop dealing with matters corruption siting that it is not in their job description to deal with the said crimes.

While speaking during a Sunday tour at Kericho County DP Ruto said that the DCI should leave matters graft to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to probe.

“The fight against corruption must proceed on the basis of correct information and by competent institutions,” Said DP Ruto

He further blamed ODM leader Raila Odinga for politicizing the war against graft and added that the leaders should allow the right government institutions to handle these cases.

He said that his team is not ready to allow a section of leaders backing the Luo political kingpin to distract the Jubilee government in the fight to end the vice in the country. 

However, some of the Jubilee MPs including Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny, Nyeri MP Wambugu Ngunjiri, Igembe North MP Maoka Maore, Kasarani MP Mercy Gakuya and Nominated Maina Kamanda have insisted that they will not be allowed to be demonized by politicians who want to use their positions for selfish gains.

They insisted those accused of looting public resources must face the law.
