Shame on Sarri! Chelsea starlet Hudson Odoi gets BEST news of his Career

Maurizio Sarri may not rate England U20 World cup star Callum Hudson Odoi, The youngster is yet to start a  Premier League game this season. The skillful winger has been called up to the England Senior set up after impressive cameo appearances in cup games. Hudson-Odoi has been very impressive as Chelsea qualified for the Quarter Finals of the Europa League, The Englishman has 4 goals and 2 assists to his name.

Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi had barely arrived to meet his new England Under-21 team-mates, when he was told he was to join up with the senior squad. England Under-21 manager Aidy Boothroyd revealed his disappointment after telling Hudson-Odoi that Gareth Southgate needed his services.

He said that he’d barely had time to eat his dinner, before heading from London to St Georges’ Park, to link up with the main squad. But, despite the 18-year-old’s senior call up, Boothroyd still expects Hudson-Odoi to be available for this summer’s European Championships in Italy and San Marino.

“He just had his dinner and was gone” said Boothroyd. “And he is getting billed for it! All the boys were meeting and mingling getting to know each other again and then comes a thunderbolt and he is off.”

”I told him ‘I’ve got some good news and bad news for you… The good news is that you have been called up by the senior team, the bad news is that you have to come back to me in the summer. We will definitely have him in the summer, touch wood.”

“He is buzzing, as you can imagine. A big smile came across his face [when I told him]. It is good.” Hudson-Odoi won’t be fazed by the quick jump to the senior squad, he added.

He had earned his first Under-21s call up after forcing his way into the Chelsea squad, and shining in his limited game time. He has played just 84 Premier League minutes this season and is yet to start a league game.

Thirteen of his 19 appearances – eight starts and five substitute appearances – have come in cup competitions and the Community Shield, and he has scored five goals and set up four more.

But, his lack of first-team matches has left the Chelsea winger frustrated, and German giants Bayern Munich tried to exploit the situation, making four January bids, the highest of £35m, but saw them all rejected by Chelsea.

Hudson-Odoi’s call up to the England squad came after a trio of players pulled out through injury. Manchester City’s Fabian Delph and John Stones withdrew earlier today, while Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek was also forced to pull out.
