The debate on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s succession has gained momentum before 2022.
Deputy President William Ruto is considered one of the front runners in the race for power.
Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has now advised DP Ruto to scout for a running mate from the Western region if he wants to make his Presidential dream a reality.
Speaking at Kodedema in Teso South, Busia County on Sunday, Khalwale said that Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong is among the best choices of running mate Ruto should consider if he wants to rise to power when that time comes.
He also suggested that Ford Kenya Leader Moses, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, Governor Oparanya, Ojaamong and himself should stick together to ensure the community gets a share of the national cake when that time comes.
“I have learned in politics that there is nothing like the right opinion and the wrong opinion. If your opinion is right then the opinion of your opponent is not wrong it is the other opinion.
I am one of the people in my community with the other opinion. The other opinion of that it will stand with the Deputy President Ojaamong you are here, Khalwale you are here, Mudavadi is there, Wetangula is here, Oparanya is there. Will one man defeat us?” he said.
Khalwale has vowed to stand with the second in command until he rises to power in 2022.
