Ruto drops another smoking bombshell against Raila

Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday continued to preach in his Tanga Tanga mission, and ‘scripture’ of the day came from ODM Party, Raila Odinga being the main Chapter! The DP claimed the propaganda and lies being driven by the opposition will not stop Jubilee from serving Kenyans.

Ruto said the noises being made are aimed at slowing the realisation of Jubilee programmes with an aim of using it as a 2022 political card.

Ruto was speaking in West Pokot and Elgeyo Marakwet Counties during various meetings with wananchi.

Ruto took issues with Raila Odinga led ODM party saying it was hiding in the handshake plan to assume to power in 2022.

“They are after tearing apart the Jubilee party and derail its development projects so that it becomes campaign bait,” Ruto said.

Ruto said the political cons roaming around Kenya are well known, and so are their under-the-table games.

“They are serial liars whom Kenyans cannot believe in. Our plans on matters development will not be undermined by leaders who want to demean the Jubilee track record,” he said.

He said Kenyans will not stomach the fake promises of politicians “who broke KANU, Cord, NASA and now are after finishing Jubilee.

Ruto was accompanied by Governor John Lonyangapuo, Senators Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho).

Members of Parliament present were Caleb Kositany (Soy), Nelson Koech (Belgut), Samuel Moroto (Kapenguria), Kwenya Thuku (Kinangop), Lilian Cheptoo (West Pokot Women Rep), Mark Lomunokol (Kacheliba) and David Pkosin (Pokot South).

Others were Peter Lochkapong (Sigor), David Pkosing (Pokot South), Dominic Kosgei (Sotik), Hillary Kosgei (Kipkelion West), Kangogo Bowen (Marakwet East) and William Kisang (Marakwet West).

Ruto said the country would not be taken back to the politics of division and hate.

“That is why we will protect our party, and our programmes,” he said.

His sentiments were echoed by Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen  who said they will work tirelessly to show Kenyans who the real enemy of unity is.

He argued that the handshake was a one-man show with a plan to divide Jubilee.

Meanwhile, governor  Lonyangapuo lauded the existing peace between Pokots in Kenya and the Sabiny and Karamojong of Uganda.

He said the co-existence between the three communities had seen animals from Kenya crossing to the neighboring country for pasture.

“However, the Turkana side still has issues. The past two years had been good but some bad smoke is now coming up. We need to tackle this challenge, especially Kainuk area,” said the West Pokot Governor.

While raising concerns that the current conflict between the Pokots and the Turkanas would hamper development in the region, Kacheliba MP called on the government to come up with long-lasting solutions to the problem.

He said politicians should not be allowed to divide Kenyans, but rather focus on empowering them.

“We will therefore continue supporting leaders who are after cementing relations and empowering us,” he added.

The West Pokot Women Rep said the unity between the communities at the border of Kenya Uganda was as a result of peace schools built by the Jubilee government.

Thuku said even with the political noises, the “Jubilee plan that we had would not change”.

While explaining that the Jubilee party’s presidential candidate of choice in 2022 remained Dr Ruto, the Kinangop MP said the newcomers in the ruling party were architects of tribalism, and division.

Soy MP and his Belgut counterpart urged Kenyans to rally behind leaders with people’s interest at heart.
