Opinion:Why Kenyan ladies are obsessed with posting nude photos online

The Internet has eroded the moral values of the humankind. Christened as an online mall with “You need it, you will get It.” slogan, many have fallen victim in search of fame that comes with a cost.

The millennials are highly affected as they have no one to look up to, role models are in the clubs while parents have neglected their parenting call.

With the existence of social media platforms such as online dating sites, Instagram, facebook, tweeter among others, frustrated youths posts their nudes seeking public glorification.

Models post their nudity seeking to advertise their booty bodies to attract artists who would later pay them to appear in their music as video vixens.

It’s no denying that social media, pop culture and entertainment have great influence on youths.

Experts say that Kenyan girls have copied the western world noting that peer pressure and lack of government policies that prohibit anyone from posting their naked photos online.

Other ladies may want to have a sense of belonging by interacting with established socialites such as Vera Sidika, Huddah Monroe, Corazon Kwamboka, and Faith Kwamboka among others either to try to please them or fit in their respective groups.

With examples and ‘success stories’, from celebrated socialites’, more ladies tend to join the bandwagon and maybe tap into the world of possibilities and riches. There is also the aspect of being cool. Most Kenyan ladies think that posting nude photos will make them look cool and sassy just like video vixens.

The corporate world has just offered Kenyans room for madness by allowing: nude generation”(prostitutes) to have space in the society where they are glorified by being referred to as celebs.

A good example is Huddah Monroe, who over a couple of years becomes the first Kenyan celebrity to hit the 1 million followers mark on integral.

Entertainment promoters’ state that socialites, as known by modern society rake in millions, inform of advertisement and endorsements from the corporate institution.

The solution to this social menace is empowering young girls and educating them that true beauty lies in hard work and determination. They should be invested in through creating job opportunities for them.

Parents should also help their teens distinguish between filtered Instagram photos and the real photos. Failure to this, the internet will continue eroding the moral from generation to generation.

The government through parliament legislation should pass laws that prohibit Kenyans from posting nudes online failure to comply with guideline face a fine and life sentence.
