As exclusively revealed by Goal on Thursday, K’Ogalo players started a go-slow on landing from Egypt where they lost 4-0 to Zamalek in a Group D match of the Caf Confederation Cup.

The players were demanding for the salary of February, winning bonuses plus allowances that had accrued for months. The situation got even worse as some of the players allegedly switched off their phones and failed to honor the league match against Kakamega Homeboyz on Thursday.

Earlier on Friday, Gor Mahia players ended a two day strike and vowed to get a win against Petro Atletico on Sunday.

The former Harambee Stars striker is not happy with the club’s top brass after they allegedly failed to pay him his sign on fee.

“Oliech was in the squad that met the club officials but was shocked to learn that he will not receive his sign on fee.

“He has asked the club to release him because the (officials) cheated him that they will pay the same before going to Algiers but it was not the case and now they have asked him to wait until the end of April,” a source said.

Watford 2-1 Crystal Palace: Super-sub Andre Gray strikes late to sink Eagles and send Javi Gracia’s side to Wembley

Gray scored the winner late-on

Andre Gray came off the bench to score and give Watford a superb 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Crystal Palace at Vicarage Road.

They had been heading for extra time when, only three minutes after his introduction, he instead secured their route to Wembley – and their third win of the season via the same scoreline against the same opponents.

For the first time since their promotion to the Premier League in 2015, Watford are on course to end the season with something to play for.

Watford are through to the semi-final of the FA Cup

Defeat, after Etienne Capoue gave the hosts the lead and Michy Batshuayi levelled, represented Palace’s third from four, and should their results not improve they will soon be at risk of relegation.

The visitors, already weakened by the absence of the influential Mamadou Sakho, were further undermined when fellow central defender Scott Dann joined the injured Wilfried Zaha in withdrawing, this time through illness.

It was in the 62nd minute when, following an error from former Palace defender Adrian Mariappa, the on-loan Batshuayi levelled.

Gracia’s superb season with Watford continued

Mariappa attempted to play out from defence when he should have cleared, and the alert Batshuayi charged the ball down into the path of goal, before shaping up and calmly finishing from inside the area and inside the far right post.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Refuses To Rule Out Man Utd Interest In Gareth Bale: “We Want Quality”

Manchester United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to rule out a move for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale.

The Red Devils have long been associated with a move for the Welsh international and recent events in the Spanish capital might see him become available.

Bale’s future as a Real player has recently been put in doubt. Firstly, he was demoted by now former Los Blancos manager Santiago Solari, during which time his relationship with the Bernabéu faithful became soured.

Real subsequently decided to replace Solari with Zinedine Zidane, their three-time European Cup winning manager. His return subsequently placed all eyes on Bale given how the Welshman fell out of favour towards the end of Zizou’s first spell.

Naturally, it’s led to reports of a move away, with Manchester United – who have long been linked with him – again touted. United are set to announce Solskjaer as their permanent manager soon and the Norwegian coach is already planning ahead.

When the name of Bale was put forward to him Solskjaer wasn’t quick to dismiss any potential move stressing a player of his quality is always welcome at Old Trafford but reputation alone isn’t enough.

“I can’t really comment on Gareth Bale or specific players because they’re property of other clubs but we should look for quality players, definitely, and players who could improve us as a team,” he told reporters.

“There’s so many factors you need to think about when you sign players. It’s easy when you’re in the media or when you’re a supporter, you can think short term. We’ve got to think about the longevity as well, who’s going to fit in personality-wise.

“So there’s so many things that we need to think about.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer WARNS Man Utd About Wolves Star Who Is ‘Like Franz Beckenbauer’

Manchester United take on Wolves as both sides vie for a spot at Wembley in the semi-finals.

Wolves are the best-placed team outside the established Big Six clubs, and have taken points off each of them in the Premier League this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will take confidence from their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in September as they prepare for the Molineux showdown which could see them make the competition’s semi-finals for the first time since 1981.

Wolves have the fifth-best defensive record in the league, keeping 10 clean sheets and conceding 36 goals this campaign – they have continued on the ascent which saw them comfortably win the Championship by nine points.

Solskjaer has taken note of the Black Country side’s climb and one player in particular – their skipper Coady, who has played every minute of Premier League football this season.

“They have been very impressive, even last season,” Solskjaer told the Manchester United Official App.

“The way they have just ran through the Championship, which is an unbelievably tough league and so unpredictable, with 99 points, was fantastic.

“They were free-scoring and play a different kind of system with three at the back, almost with a sweeper and almost like a Franz Beckenbauer-type player at the back with Conor Coady, who has been impressive.”

Solskjaer would not reveal whether United will switch to a back-three to match – and nullify – Wolves, saying: “We’ve been planning for our own game, of course.

“But then again, you have to take into consideration how the opposition play when we defend.

“You have to think what their strengths are and what their weaknesses are. But mainly, 80 or 90 per cent of what we do is about ourselves.”

Having drawn Arsenal and Chelsea in the preceding rounds, Solskjaer is relishing the task of overcoming another one of England’s top sides, and believes the tough draws make the run more exciting.

“That’s even better then [facing tough teams] if you manage to get through to the final and win it,” he said.

“We know it’s not been an easy run and this is going to be a very hard game for us, but [it’s] still a game we can win if we perform well.”
