How Wangari Maathai legacy is recognised in other parts of the world than in Kenya

The Nobel Prize winner, the late Professor Wangari Maathai is being recognised in the whole world even at her death.France has named a school after her probably what she actually deserves and much more from home.

She has been honoured by many across the globe because of her efforts to conserve the environment by spearheading planting of millions of trees.
As a result of her activism efforts, she became the first woman and environmentalist to bag the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize award in 2004.

Though Kenya named a road after her, much would be expected being her home country. In the United States of America, a statue of an image resembling the professor was unveiled and now France have launched a public school, Ecole Wangari Maathai which is a public elementary school situated in Aubervilliers area.
