Bailly sends message to Man United fans amid fitness issues

Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly has told supporters that he’s back fit and is hoping for a chance to impress against Wolves in the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

Bailly hasn’t appeared in a United shirt since he was forced off the field after just 36 minutes in the remarkable Champions League triumph against PSG and he hasn’t played a full 90 minutes since the 1-0 victory over Leicester City at the start of February.

United have the opportunity to book a ticket to the FA Cup semi-finals if they beat Wolves at Molineux and Bailly wants to help his side get to Wembley.

“Yeah, I’m good,” he told ManUtd,com when asked about his fitness.

“Now, I’m good. I want to keep working, give my best for my team-mates and, when it is my turn, I try to play well so I am staying in the team.

“We’re still very confident because the team is now very good. The mentality is so good and the team works every day with the manager and the staff.

“The mentality is very important for the team now and very important for the future. I think we want to keep working to give the best results for the team.”

Bailly is also full of praise for caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has completely turned United’s season around since his arrival in December.

“I think it’s been a great experience, he is a great guy – very humble and down to earth,” he added.

“He speaks to everyone in the same way as players. Not everyone can play at the same time and it doesn’t matter with Ole. You know, if you work hard and are focused, and we have all got that aim to be playing, then the mentality around the place is really, really positive at the moment.

“Even if you’re not in the team, he treats you just as equal as the players who are playing.”

United may have already beaten Arsenal and Chelsea to get to the last eight of the tournament but Wolves may prove to be just as tricky opposition.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are having a great season after being promoted to the Premier League and currently sit in seventh. They knocked Liverpool out of the cup in the third round and picked up a 1-1 draw against United in the league.
