Roselyne Akinyi popularly known as Mama Orange reached out for help from governor Sonko to help her with burial of her son.
Mama Orange is a staunch supporter of ODM an got the name from its symbol of an orange.
Mama Orange, a common figure donning oranges at ODM rallies has her two sons as drivers in the Eastleigh number 4 route.
One son was discharged from hospital last year after an ODM party official cleared his Sh26,660 hospital bill.
One of her sons Victor Otieno succumbed on October 23, and ODM came to her assistance with burial arrangements.
This year yet again, the mother lost her other son.
Akinyi, who now labels herself as ‘Mama Orange handshake power together’, once again reached out to Sonko for assistance and the governor was happy to help.
Sonko paid for transport, burial arrangements and all her expenses according to Mama Orange.
The Ambassodor of good deeds, Governor Sonko, expressed how his team was doing the arrangements for her son’s burial.
” As a Good deed Ambassador Sonko Rescue team assisting Mama Orange from Kisumu, whose son passed away this month. She recorded a small video clip requesting for my assistant and I have personally directed that she is helped,” the statement read in part.
