See How Ruto Loved His Late Pilot

Deputy President William Ruto on Friday condoled with the family of the late Captain Mario Magonga who died in a plane crash.

The DP visited and spent time with the family at their Karen home.

He remembered the deceased as an accomplished, disciplined and reliable pilot who loved his Job.

“Captain Magonga was charitable, intelligent and had impeccable credentials. He will be sorely missed,” Ruto tweeted.

He added that Magonga was friendly, humble and open to banter.

The departed pilot was working with KIDL helicopters when the crash occurred.

The chopper he was flying crashed on March 4, at around 8 p.m. at Labolo in Central Island National Park, Turkana County.

The pilot’s sister Gladys Magonga stated that he was so reserved that she didn’t know her brother flew the DP.

“I knew he was a pilot but I did not know he worked for the Deputy President,” she told Nation.

The family tried hard to hide the news of Magonga’s death from his mother because she was fragile due to health complications.

They had to turn off the television and radio as well as divert all her calls before eventually letting her know Magonga had passed away.
