Sad! The Kakamega quintuplets admitted to hospital

Evelyn Namukhula and her husband Herbert Nabwire’s joy was short lived after their newborns quintuplets developed breathing problems. The newborns who were born at Kakamega General Hospital on March 13
were all rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital where doctors placed them at the Intensive Care Unit.

The 28-year-old woman gave birth through cesarean section to three girls and two boys. NamuKhula and her husband Herbert, who has hearing disability now have a total of nine children.

When she went for an ultrasound doctors found she was carrying three children, but when she went into delivery she delivered five babies. Her husband, Herbert Nabwire said he never anticipated his wife to give birth to five children at once but termed it as a blessing from God.

He said, “We now have nine children and I treat all of them as a blessing from God. My wish is for the county government to enroll the mother and the children in programmes that will help cater for their nutritional needs since I have hearing challenges and I do not have a stable job.”
