I am not ready to play monkey games with you, Magoha tells MPs

President Kenyatta’s Education CS nominee George Magoha is one incoming CS who seem to be ready to do his job.

During his vetting the KNEC Chair told the MPs that he is not ready to play games and if they intend to interfere with his work he will not take the job.

In his statement Prof Magoha said, “In all my years as a surgeon [transpland and urology],  I can proudly say no one died on the operating table. If I fail in this position, then it will be the first. I did not lobby for my nomination. It is purely on professionalism. If this is what you want, then I’m ready to deliver, but if there are any shady dealings, then you can keep your job,”

In addition he said, “When I set my eyes on something, I first look at what I want to achieve. From there I begin working on it,” he said.

However he refuted claims claims he is mechanistic and too much of a technocrat in his style of leadership. He only has run-ins with unreasonable people.

The former University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor is currently the Chair of the examination body KNEC which he will be leaving as soon as his name is approved by the parliament for the position of CS Education.

In this regard, Magoha has received approval from leaders in the education sector including KICD director Julius Jwan who confirmed that Prof Magoha is indeed good at what he does.
