Kenya is at the forefront leading in embracing it’s informal sector.

A new app, Ujuzy bringing together service providers in the construction industry has been launched in Nairobi.

The platform enables homeowners to order for the services of plumbers, painters, electrician, and carpenters from among those who have listed their services with the platform through a simple tap on their smartphones.

“We are taking away the burden of searching for experienced and reliable professional service providers in a hassle-free model to deliver critical services to companies and homes,” said Ujuzy managing director Kimani Gitau in a statement on Wednesday.

On Ujuzy, service providers can offer their services, as individual experts or as a company.

The system uses a peer-rating system that enables clients to give feedback on services rendered and therefore rank service providers based on the quality of work.

To register or request a service, users are required to download the Ujuzy App in the Google App Store.

Ujuzy is also available in the Apple App store.

Alternatively, users may access Ujuzy from their desktops at ujuzy.com
