3 players Arsenal need to sell this summer for the club to move forward

Unai Emery’s first season at Arsenal can only be termed as a success especially considering the chaotic nature other teams go through once their are in transition. The Gunners are already 12 points better than they were at this stage last season under Arsene Wenger and very much on course for a top 4 finish plus a realistic chance of winning the Europa League.

The Spaniard’s style this season has been highly effective and impressive since most of the players he has were signed by the previous manager. There are a few players that the manager needs to get rid of if he is to fully implement his style at Arsenal football club and if he is to move the team forward. Here are 3 players he needs to sell…

Mohamed Elneny

The Egypt International has been on the fringe this season under Emery and was subject to a bi from Leicester City last summer and in January this year. Unai Emery clearly does not rank him or see him as a worthy player for the League hence the reason he always employs him in the cup games or short cameos in the group stages of the Europa League.

He will need to be sold as Arsenal can not have such a senior player only playing in cup games. His exit door is wide open!

Skodran Mustafi

The German defender always plays like he has a grenade fitted in somewhere beneath his boots ready for a costly explosion! Take for instance the match against Spurs at Wembley. With the Gunners firmly in control and looking set to claim all three points after Aaron Ramsey(Who is also leaving) had given them an early lead, Mustafi inexplicably gave away a needless penalty for a stupid push on Harry Kane.

Arsenal ended up dropping two points which could come to haunt them in the race for a top 4 finish and it for this brain farts of his that he is on this list! Arsenal deserve better and Mustafi will never provide the security needed at the back in the same manner that Sokratis, Rob Holding or Laurent Koscielny does.

Mesut Ozil

Most people will not agree with this choice but the truth of the matter is that the German has been under performing for the past few seasons. On his day, he is a fantastic footballer who is capable of the unthinkable but the problem is that those days do not come often enough.

He is the clubs highest paid player, he gets paid more than Liverpool’s Mo Salah, Manchester City’s Kevin De Byrune and even Premier League top scorer Kun Aguero! Does he produce the same numbers as the said players?

Arsenal’s first real attempt at change was sacking Arsene Wenger an getting a better younger version of the French manager, now they need to change their best player and get a better younger version who will drive the club forward.

Do you like our list? Is there someone else you think we should have added or maybe not added on the list? Let us know in the comments…
