This is why Mutyambai is the perfect replacement of Boinnet

Hillary Nzoki Mutyambai

President Uhuru Kenyatta, this week, appointed the new Inspector General of police after the end of Joseph Boinett’s tenure on Tuesday 12th.

In an Executive Order dated March 13, 2019, Hillary Mutyambai has been nominated to take over Boinett as the new IG.

Mutyambai holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s of Arts degree in National Security Policy from the Australian National University.

In 1998, he joined the then Directorate of Security Intelligence where he continued to rise the ranks to become the Deputy Director in charge of Counter-Terrorism in the National Intelligence Service.

Mutyambai also underwent special training on counter-terrorism and advanced security in the U.S, Operational Management in the United Kingdom and Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism in Israel.

Until his nomination, Mutyambai was the Assistant Director with National Intelligent Service (NIS) and currently attached to the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC).

Mutyambai is yet to be vetted in parliament before he start his job officially.
