OH NO! Distress as Quintuplets from Kakamega now admitted over breathing problems

It was a case of pure joy and shock for a young lady to deliver a set of 5 children at once on Wednesday, and the occasion went viral.

But it was a short-lived joy for Evelyn Namukhula and her husband Herbert Nabwire after their five new born babies developed breathing problems.

The quintuplets who were born at Kakamega General Hospital on Wednesday, March 13, were all rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital where doctors placed them at the Intensive Care Unit.

The 28-year-old woman delivered the three girls and two boys at a go through Cesarean section. Namukhula appealed to well wishers to help her fend for her babies given her financial status. “I thank God for this miracle. However, I appeal to any well wisher for any help because I will not be able to raise them alone,” she pleaded.

Through the county government Health department, the mother of nine will enjoy a free one-year full premium of the National Hospital Insurance Fund in order to access postnatal care.

” The county will pay full premium for her for a year. And maybe in future as the children grow, we will look into ways of helping her,” county Health executive member Rachael Okumu.
