Give me four! Ole gives out four areas he wants to strengthen in United’s squad ahead of the season

As Manchester United ponder on giving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the steering wheel to lead the team in the incoming season, the Norwegian has listed some of the areas he wants strengthen for a competitive title race.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly informed the Manchester United board he wants to strengthen the club in four key areas in the summer transfer window.

The Norwegian could be confirmed as the Red Devils’ next permanent manager during the upcoming international break after his brilliant stint in charge.

The temporary boss has guided Manchester United back into Champions League contention and the quarter finals of this year’s competition.

He is now looking to add his own stamp on Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils team and reportedly has four areas in mind that are in need of strengthening.

According to The Metro, Solskjaer held a meeting with the Manchester United board in London last month where he discussed his plans for the future.

He is alleged to have informed the board that he wants to sign a right winger, an attacking midfielder, a left-back and a right back.

Antonio Valencia is set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season, while Ashley Young is now 33 years old.

A right-back is therefore a priority for the Red Devils, who only have Diogo Dalot as a serious long-term option in this area.

The situation at left-back is much the same, with only Luke Shaw an option for the position as Matteo Darmian will likely leave at the end of the season.

Right wing is a position that even Mourinho wanted to strengthen during his stint in charge of the Old Trafford club.

While another attacking midfielder will likely provide more competition for places as well as cover for Paul Pogba in the centre of the park.

United are said to ave been given the green light to sign Tottenham defender Toby Alderweird.
