French President Emmanuel Macron will be in Kenya today in the first visit by a French Leader since Kenya’s independence in 1963.

Police have urged all motorists to avoid Haile Selassie Avenue from 3:00pm as President Kenyatta and French President Emmanuel Macron are expected to conduct a station tour of the Nairobi Central Railway Station off Haile Selassie Avenue before addressing a joint press conference.

However as part of protocol for heads of state or dignitaries, the government had closed Haile Selassie Avenue.

Netizens were however quick to express their emotions regarding the same.

Here is what some had to say

I hear Haile Selassie Avenue has undergone a deep clean, pavement carpeted and flowers planted. All for Macron. We really do know how to unleash those wageni dresses and utensils!— Rachel (@Nakeel) March 13, 2019
