But that is a thing they want to forget the soonest possible and today, Real Madrid were back in training as Zinedine Zidane got his second spell in charge underway.

Zidane has sealed a surprising return to the Bernabeu just months after quitting following the Champions League success.

Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has spoken about Bale’s plans and insists he won’t make a rash decision, just because Zidane is back.

He told ESPN FC that Bale would “wait and see” how things go from now until the end of the season before making a call on his long-term future.

It is suggested the Welshman’s future would depend on what Zidane and Florentino Perez have planned for this summer.

Zidane is a huge admirer of Eden Hazard and is expected to move for the Chelsea star, while Sadio Mane is another contender.

The likes of Christian Eriksen and Kylian Mbappe have also been linked with Real since Zidane’s return.
