Liverpool News: Who Could Miss Quarter-Final With Bayern Munich Yellow?

The two European heavyweights played out a goalless draw at Anfield three weeks ago.

Both sides will fancy their chances of progressing at the Allianz Arena.

Liverpool are looking to make amends for last season’s heartbreak against Real Madrid in the final and former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp will be keen to get one over on his former rivals.

Meanwhile, Bayern are hoping to reach the final for the first time since beating Dortmund at Wembley in 2013.

Champions League rules dictate that any player receiving three bookings in the competition will be suspended for one match.

All card records are wiped ahead of the semi-finals.

And one Liverpool star is at risk of missing the first leg of the next round if he gets booked this evening.

This concern comes after:

“One Liverpool star is at risk of missing the first leg of the next round.”

Bayern defender Joshua Kimmich is suspended for tonight’s clash after seeing yellow in the first leg, while Thomas Muller also misses out having been sent off.

So who is at risk of being suspended for Liverpool?

Andy Robertson is on thin ice after being booked against PSG and Napoli in the group stage.

The left-back has been a revelation since joining from Hull in 2017 and he’d be a huge miss if he was unavailable for the quarter-final.

Klopp will be hoping Robertson is on his best behaviour in order to avoid being cautioned by the referee.

And Bayern could exploit this vulnerability with the pace and trickery of Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman and Franck Ribery at their disposal.

The winner of tonight’s clash will find out their quarter-final opponent in Friday’s draw.
