Liverpool Faces Yet Another Blow as United is Close to Signing Coutinho

According to reports, If Manchester United sign Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona this summer it will have a financial impact on former club Liverpool.

According to the Mirror, Coutinho has been in contact with a number of Red Devils players over a potential £100million switch to Old Trafford.

Barcelona parted with a whopping £142million to land the midfielder in January 2018 but he has struggled to establish himself in the first team.
The Catalan club recently signed Frenkie De Jong, who links up with his new team-mates at the end of the season, and he will provide yet further competition for places at the Nou Camp.

It’s claimed Liverpool will lose out on money owed to them in bonus clauses if Coutinho opts for Manchester United.

Liverpool are due to earn £4.4million every time Coutinho makes 25 La Liga appearances up to 100.

The Brazilian has so far made 43 appearances, and will likely hit the magical 50 before the end of this campaign, but if Coutinho heads to Manchester United in the summer then the Reds will miss out on at least £8.8million (potentially 13.2m) owed to them.
