Eminem And WWE Reach Deal For Appearance

The Rap God is coming to WWE for an appearance later this year

WWE is no stranger to having celebrities get involved with sports entertainment, with everyone from Donald Trump to Floyd Mayweather to The Muppets having made appearances in the Fed

But now reports suggest they could have secured one of their biggest ever guests: Eminem.

Fightful is reporting that Slim Shady has reached a deal to oversee the soundtrack to WWE 2K20, the next instalment in the annual WWE video game series.

More excitingly, Fightful have said Eminem also looks set to make an appearance on WWE television:

Beyond soundtrack work, we’re told there’s also an agreement for Eminem to appear on an episode of WWE Smackdown later this year. The deal, reached today, was put together in part to promote the launch of WWE Smackdown Live on the Fox Network. WWE is also planning on having a championship belt produced for Eminem.

Eminem’s team have since denied that an agreement has been made, but Fightful have said they are sticking to their story.

2K Games worked with other musicians to curate the soundtracks to their titles in recent years – P Diddy did a similar role for WWE 2K197, and Jay Z handled the music for NBA 2K13.

Eminem would be far from the first rapper to appear in WWE. Run-DMC performed at Wrestlemania V, and Ice-T played The Godfather into the ring at Wrestlemania 2000.

Flo Rida has been in WWE multiple times, beating up Heath Slater and having a rap battle with Bo Dallas. And Michael Gun Kelly, who recently beefed with Eminem, got powerbombed off the stage by Kevin Owens.

Rumours of a Slim Shady appearance in WWE did the rounds all the way back in 2008, but nothing ever came of it.
